December 24th

I finished my ski test yesterday and today I went to ski for free. Takano-san brought me again to Moiwa Mountain. I tried to skied down steeper slopes. Today I also get my badge and testimonial. I really got a third grade for ski which was judged by the Ski Association of Japan. I got gloves and googles as my present. After ski I went home and today I slept a lot because I felt very tired doing ski for five days.

December 25th

I had a free time today. I woke up earlier, got a breakfast and then went out to the town. We went to Sapporo Station and took the subway to Maruyama Zoo. First, we went to see Maruyama Park and also Hokkaido Temple. From there we went to zoo but got lost on our way so we asked somebody there how to go to the zoo. The zoo is quite big. Since it is winter, many of the animals stay in houses. First we saw eagles and hawks. Then we saw tigers, lions, giraffes, rhinos, tapirs, snakes and many other animals. I saw one lion that kept roaring and he looked so sad. I thought a pity of the lion. I think he felt bored and wanted to go outside. Then we went to see penguins, seals, and bears. They were so cute. I took a lot of photos. I saw north pole bear, mother and son getting food from the zookeeper. The mother was good at catching apples but the son was a little slow, and there were a lot of crows waiting to steal the food. After the zoo we went back to Sapporo Station to have lunch. We had Mexican food and it was delicious. After that we went home and that's all what I did today.

December 26th

This day I woke up at 11 am because I didnt have any ski lesson anymore. After taking a breakfast a little, we watched TV and left house at one o'clock. We went to Kitara Concert Hall by subway to watch Beethoven No.9 concert. Kitara Concert Hall is quite big. There were so many people there. They were all going to the concert. I think that Japanese like Beethoven so much. The concert was started at 2 pm. It began with somebody playing pipe organ for about half an hour. Then we had a fifteen minutes break. Then the main concert began. And everyone gave a big applause. First part of the concert made me sleepy. But the last part of the concert was quite interesting because they started to sing. The concert ended for about 4 pm. After the concert we had a dinner at Park Hotel. I got chocolate ice cream which is my favorite. After dinner we went home.

Ｄｅｃｅｍｂｅｒ ２７ｔｈ

Today I woke up at 10.40 am. We had rice and curry party for lunch. Takano-san prepared for the party since morning. He made two types of curry, dry curry and usual curry. I like the dry curry Takano-san made. He also invited his friends and they had a good talk together. Takano-san showed my testimonial to everybody and everybody were impressed. Oota-san took a lot of pictures of us. About two pm, kids also came. They were still at this house when I wrote this diary. When one of Takano-san's friend, Matsuyama-san were about to go home, he gave me a present of a painting he did himself. Today I knew from Takano-san that was a big earthquake at Southeast Asia but my parents phoned me and told me that they were OK.
